West meats East for the feast

In the high street, the Halal butchers next to Sharon's Grocery are selling braces of pheasant and partridge. Meanwhile regulars queue for their free range Bronze turkeys and assorted cuts at the ever-popular Wellbeloved on Tanner's Hill.

  3. That's Ali Bros isn't it? One of my favourite shops. They're always ready to help with unusual cuts of meat, and they sell mutton!

    Another example of religion being used as an excuse for cruelty. Halal and Kosher slaughter should be prohibited.

  5. I thought it was interesting that the game was not strictly halal and found discussion forums saying that it is because the bird is pierced by the shot...
